Drug Overdoses in North Carolina

by Phyllis Lile-King (Overdose Law )

In the last several years, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has seen an increase in deaths from drug overdoses as a result of prescription drugs. North Carolina has seen an increase in deaths from methadone, deaths from Fentanyl, deaths from oxycodone, deaths from OxyCOntin, deaths from Xanax, deaths from opiates and benzodiazepines, generally.

Many patients die of drug overdoses in North Carolina at the beginning of treatment, at a time when they are not tolerant to opiates.
