His pro bono work with scientist and attorney Ted Vosk exposed shoddy science work at the Washington State Crime Lab, leading to a groundbreaking ruling by a panel of judges to throw out all DUI breath tests in King County.

He is also a member of Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice, a small, influential group of attorneys who campaign for higher legal standards in criminal cases.
