Guillory was born in Alexandria, Louisiana. Upon graduating high school from Alexandria Senior High, he enrolled in classes at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He was a member of Mu Kappa Tau, a national honor society for marketing majors, while attending UL Lafayette.
On June 19, 2001, Josh enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was later accepted into Officer Candidate School where he graduated second in his class and was awarded the Erickson Cup as a distinguished graduate. He graduated from the Unites States Airborne School and earned his airborne wings in 2004. Josh is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served in Baghdad, Iraq as a Cavalry platoon leader in 2005 and earned his “Combat Spurs” during his tour in Iraq. He served as a Cavalry officer for the remainder of his military career. Before leaving the service, he served as a Troop Commander.
He understands and appreciates the value of hard work. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center, cum laude, while simultaneously managing a full-time career, a growing family, and classes at night. Josh is committed to understanding his clients’ needs, working hard to provide honest and informed advice based on their needs, and continuously stands ready to provide legal advice that you can count on.
Family and the Acadiana community are important to Josh. He is the proud husband of Jamie Guillory, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. Josh has three children and is actively involved in the Acadiana community. In addition to his law practice in Lafayette, he has coached in a variety of youth athletic leagues in the area. Josh is also a professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he teaches Business Law.
