The firm is devoted to providing each client the best opportunity to be successful on appeal.Hunter is an appellate lawyer whose practice is focused on criminal appeals in the federal appellate courts across the country, and before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Before shifting the focus of his practice almost exclusively to appeals, Hunter represented criminal defendants at the trial level in well over a 100 cases.

Before starting his own practice, Hunter wrote summary judgment motions for one of Connecticut’s top civil rights firms in plaintiffs Section 1983 cases. Later, he worked as an advocate and lawyer for the Disability Rights Center of Maine.
His legal writing has been published in The Journal of Legal Medicine and has received scholarly recognition for essays on Constitutional law and the Death Penalty.

Since starting his own practice, Hunter has been lead counsel on several appeals. He has argued cases before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
